Costa Rica
Posted On 07/02/2008 06:40:11 by SnarkyShark
Althoug I have had some amazing days surfing in Texas, I want to relocate to Costa Rica. I stand up surf as well as bodyboard, but I am gravitating more to the bodyboard side of things. Easier to travel with, and I can surf way gnarlier spots which is what I am into. Would love to do the wedge on a giant day or Wiama shorebrak. I did Sandy beach on a real sick day a while back. I am working towards buying some property down there and will be traveling quite a bit. Anyone who lives down there, I would appreaciate any heads up about things like good deals and such. Anyone trying to get up a trip involving package deals that needs one more...I would be up 4 that. I just need a few weeks lead time. Anyway, waterpeople rule!

Phenomenal FIRE
Posted On 06/06/2008 14:53:04 by Sol_Morey
Last night I had the greatest privelege to have been at an opening viewing of Mike Stewart'sepic ocean tale movie called FIRE, also edited by his friend Scott.  It will rock your world, or so I hopeit does when you see it.  It's kinda of an eerie truth seeking vision of getting out of the rat race we'llall die for, or get into the Ocean's wild and liberate your minds.  The amazing water photography wasreally facinating to watch, while going in and out of barrels with Mike, and then watching him freefalldown the face of some ballish waves.  He had me hooting from shear disbelief of his feats.  I can't say too much more.. too ruin your already virgin minds, but give your self a chance to restand just maybe we can stretch our minds to see and feel it's delightful journey.PeaceSUP world of bodydragersSol

4m MONSTER!
Posted On 04/07/2008 21:39:06 by domobb
Yeh I hit up perth beachs on sunday, well not really i just went to my usual local reef break, produces lots of nice wedges as seen in my pic~ Anyway the crowd was unusally big about 50-60 people there. I got down put on my fins and my leash and I went out and started paddling, waves was kinda small (average around 2-3m). But the weird thing was about 10 people on the beach with cameras and a girl looking at me. Anyway when I got out past the break zone (about 30m ofshore) a nice set was seen coming in, everyone started paddling and 2 people were paddling back I thought they were trying to catch it or something. Any how this time I was right of the reef, not directly on it for good reasons, only about 5 guys were game enough to take the reef. The set was coming and a guy on the reef went for it, it looked small but once it barreled it was about 4m big and the guy got hammered right onto the shallow surface. The wave was so big when i paddled up and looked down the guy under me looked like a kid lying on the floor and I was sitting on a roof of a 1 story building!

Toast Barrel

if anyone has been to yallingup they might have been to a spot called toast? a shallow reef break with perfect barrels. holds up on 3 ft and is home to some nasty seals. not all the time. not all locals know where this spot is so you migt have to ask some metro boogers. its next to a great barreling beachie. but there are the surfers who are agressive towards bodyboarders.

Big closeouts turn to wedges!

We went body boarding on our local spot, its 1 of the top beachs in perth, we get alot of non locals (including surfers who drop in on you). The beach has a 4 reefs and the main reef produces alot of wedges. Well we went on sunday and the swell was about 2.6m over the reef. I didnt take the reef because I didnt want to get drilled onto it because of sport the next day. We were right next to the reef and a nice set was coming through.  It was to far left to us so we didnt bother but as it closed out, a nice abot 2m-2.5m wedge came through and we took it. Was a massive drop and as soon as I hit the bottem I wiped out and banged my nose on the sandbar, thanks for reading.
