full of life, not necessarily happy but willing. ready t
o accept anything that life has in store for me. im sitting
here in the hospital on duty, and im reflecting on how ive
thought about being here, what it would be like to live in
spain to work and surf...and its happened. back story, i w
as sitting in iraq just 8 months ago stoked to have gotten
the opportunity to come to spain. after being in the desert
for most of 2004 and 2005, i was more than happy to be sta
tioned next to the ocean. but here i am, and im indifferent
...while i love to be able to surf in all of these new plac
es, its hard to fully enjoy without more like minded people
to share it with. on top of that the girl back home has ca
lled it quits...ive only been here for about 4 months. its
tough...i guess what im beginning to learn is that everythi
ng comes with a sacrifice. but its not all bad here, by no
means...just different. its going to be an interesting 2 ye
ars, ill make the most out of them for sure. i think its wh
en i leave i will truly begin to appreciate my time spent h
ere. so until then...
