Hi people a Friend of mine has asked me to go on a surf
camp to the above next year for 7 days...I know May-June wo
uld be the best time to go for the swell with the SE trade
winds...Has anyone been there or got any advice...Anythging
would be great...Thanks

Well took me new board out in the last 3 days swell wasn't
big only 2' to 3' but the 4play just blitzed the small sect
ions in front of me..I think I've missed the art of liddin
without haveing this board..No offense to me Nomad bat bit
I feel more comfy on the 4play and it feels more responsive
like when you tell it to do something it does,,it's not sl
uggish at all...Have'nt ridden many other boards but I'm im
pressed in this brand,,just waiting for some descent swell
to give her a good test...

Just logged on to Brownies Coastwatch and there is a large
storm cell that's just about to hit Brisbane,,north and sou
th coast...I'm at work at present and rang the wife and tol
d her to batten down the hatches just in case...I live
on Nth Straddie and will be the last to feel the brunt as
it heads out to sea...Could be in for a bad storm season th
is year the weather is turning real crazy...Was a hot muggy
day and had the air con going so I could sleep...The dogs
were on the bed also enjoying the cool air...Well take care

In love with the new board but still have'nt had any surf t
o throw me body on her yet. Got home last Friday and there
she was wrapped in a box in bubble wrap with the name 4play
and come and play looking at me....But bugger me dead ther
e's been no waves to take her out...So a week tomorrow and
another 4 days before I can go for a surf. The straddie&nbs
p;assult is on this weekend and no way am I heading out in
that crowd even on my home break..You could imagine the has
sle in the water not for me....So Tuesday morn is when I'll
be heading out for another go.

Looking forward to try the new board Tusday I've had it for
3 days put the plug in it got me new fins (Churchills) and
still have'nt busted it in yet. But first things first No1
Dentist which I've put of for 3 wks now it's comming
out right or wrong. What has put me of is how much it costs
$$$$ that's all we do in life is spend spend spend. But ba
ck to me board it's so lite to hold kinda delicate rec
kon it's really going to move and bust thru a barrel. Was g
oing to get another Nomad but spent weeks trying to find so
mething suitable to hold in on a hollower type wave and dec
ided to get a 4play 42" clipped crescent polypro Ryan Hardy
series. Now the fun begins 2 boards for differant conditio
ns a bat and clipped crescent my weaponary is set for while
. So really hopeing there is  going to be waves this w
eek and out I go. Can't believe at my age I'm like a kid wi
th a new toy. When will I grow up!!!

Last shift at work tonight then 4 days of yeeha. Gota ch

ont exspect much even if I could get out a couple of times
it would be ok. Most probaly be more wind swell from the No
rth than ground swell. The wind was fairly howling yesterda
y. It's now 2.13am. Well 4 hrs 45mins then I've finished wo
rk.

Had me 50th birthday the other day was wrapped everyone
put money in a card and I was able to ring up Eppo's bodybo
ard shop and order meself new board. I purchased a Fourplay
Ryan Hardy series 42" clipped tail crescent polypro, with
a bicep leash and a new pair of Churchill fins. I was like
a kid in a lollie shop. Now my armourey consists of a Nomad
Bat and the Fourplay clipped both with leashes. My wife ha
s been fully supported of me buying a 2nd board as you
need them for differant conditions. At the moment could'nt
ask for anything more.

Well 50 years old on the 3/10/05 4 and a bit days time
. Trying to get as many surfs in before Monday. Went for on
e this arvo and enjoyed it at least the swell was a bit big
ger than what it has been all week. Had'nt thought about be
ing 50 much dont really see it as a big deal. I've got a pr
etty good idea the wife is organising a little get togeathe
r with friends and family. Might even let my hair down and
have a choof ( reefer ). As they say let yourself go. I sti
ll think I've got another 40 years of lidding, hope anyway.
Ah well better go and wax up the bat tail for tomorrow.
