Went up to the inlet on Sunday. It was nice, but lots of lo
ngboards. It was very clean, nice swells. We were happy. I
was taking it easy...no spinners and such, as my back has b
een bothering me. Here are a couple of good sites.
Do a google.com search for "element commercial no pinch" an
d "silent library youtube". You need head phones or speaker
s for both. Enjoy.

Went up to the inlet this weekend. Didn't bring my boog bec
ause I thought it was going to be too small. Mistake. It wo
uld have been fun bb waves. Oh well. Didn't stay long anywa
y. This nasty storm came up. Sky turned black. After the th
ird big lightening strike, I was done. We headed over to my
mom's for dinner. I don't know, maybe it's stupid, but I'm
getting to where I don't want to lug a surfboard around an
ymore. I feel much free-er in the water and out, with my bb
. Plus, everyone, I mean everyone, owns a surfboard. I feel
like just another goof with a board tucked under my arm. D
oes that make sense? It's become so mainstream, that I sort
of feel embarrassed. Or maybe I'm just lazy. I don't
know, maybe I can get a helper monkey or something to carry
the board to the water for me, and load it up, and wax it,
and all the other pain in the ass stuff you have to do. Ma
n, I am one lazy mamajama.

Had a good time yesterday. Waves were 4-6 but the current w
as real bad. It was very rough. Was out with a bunch of lon
gboarders and one other sponge. I was glad he was there. Th
ere were a lot of short boarders too. This old guy on a lon
gb. was crowding me. He kept coming real close and taking a
ll the waves, like he just wasn't paying attention or somet
hing. Like no one else was there. I notice that. Many
of the older guys aren't as nice as the kids. They kind of
act like jerks, a lot of them. Almost bitter or something.
Anyway, I got out to drag my lazy ass back to the suv to fi
nd my leash under all the other crap in the back, since get
ting sucked out by a rip current and drowning didn't seem l
ike a whole lot of fun. When I walked back, I saw the longb
. guy and another longb.'er take off on the same wave and c
rash into each other. LOL! I know it's mean to laugh, but t
hey looked funny. We had 3 people drown here in as
many days. One was a surfer and I'm still trying to find ou
t who it was. It had to be someone going out without a leas
h. It's been very bad here with the rip currents. It's bad
in any event, but I hope it's not one of my friends.
Oh the places I've been and the things I've seen...we ha
d a blast on our honeymoon! Surfed everyday but one, and th
at day we went to EPCOT center. Gerry's never been. I have,
about 5 gagillion times. So I'm like, "Yeah, yeah, there's
the big ball ...there's Germany land....can we leave now!
It was great. The first day we sponged right there
at the time share. After that it was breaking better at the
inlet so we surfed there everyday. Then back to the room f
or a little honeymoon type activities and down to the pool
for wine coolers. Oh yeah...it don't get no better than tha
t. But now we're back to reality, which is pretty good too.

Had a great bachelorett party! I knew it was good when we h
ad a conga line going around the bar. No hang over either.
Sunday Gerry had to work so I went to the beach. Went to my
old break and it sucked. Was sharing shorey with some skim
boarders. Decided to head down to this spot Gerry and I we
re bodysurfing a few evenings back. I was thinking that on
a good day, the spot might work. Sure as shit...it was good
. 3' fun crumblers. But this beach is crawling with life gu
ards and RULES ... no this no that. So I asked the lifeguar
d "Hi...is it ok to boogie board here?" She said "Sure!" (n
otice I said boogie board ... i.e. crappy foam board you ju
st float on). So I ran in with my MS and fins. It was great
. And there's a Tiki bar right there. How much better does
it get?

Went up coast last Friday. Said screw it...we've got to get
away. Took my girl and her bf. She wanted me to teach him
how to surf. I told her to teach him herself. He's her bf.
I wanted to be left alone. Anyway, it was fun. Was riding t
he boog and my 7'6. A lot of bait fish in the water. Waves
were only about 2-3 but very clean and fun. We only have 2
weeks till the wedding. I'm looking at my list on the Knot
and seeing that I've got a lot to do yet. I'm way behind. W
ork has been nuts. Getting settled in the house is taking u
p a lot of time. All I want to do is surf.

It is still flat here. I haven't been feeling good for the
past couple of days anyway. My big thrill today was getting
a new cell phone and downloading a ringtone...Uncle John's
Band (the Dead). After this week it's only 3 weeks till th
e big day. I have done nothing! I am so behind at work and
with the wedding. I'm so screwed. Hope there's waves u
pcoast this Friday. I know I'd feel better if I could
just get in the water and catch some glide. &nbs

Went to the beach on Memorial Day. It was flat but felt goo
d to swim for about an hour. Check out the new Surfer's Pat
h, Issue 54, the very last page. It's an editorial about bo
dyboarding you might find interesting. I am always amazed a
t how surprised die hard standups are, when they finally fi
gure out how much FUN bodyboarding is. Well, duh, dumbass.
The rest of us figured it out a long time ago.
