Hey Steph! Howz it? Ya Vipers rock. Great fins except my feet cramp up occassionally. No fin is perfect I guess. Ya gonna get some time off soon to surf. My show is shuttin down for three weeks for the Holidays. Swells were huge here over the weekend. Maybe ya saw on the news Northern Cali had some 35 foot waves. Hawaii style except for the cold water. Yikes! Surf down where I live was in the 10 to 12 foot range. Got windy though. 21 is so young. Your lucky. Have fun and enjoy your 20's. I'm having fun in my 30's though. It's cool cuz so many guys aren't givn up what they love. I'm still inspired by some of the old big wave riders and of course the king Mike Stewart. You should take a trip and score some waves this winter. Drive out west with your boyfriend. Surf stays consistent most of the winter.

Later,
Oldschool

hahha.. had a custom x STC in indo.. absolutly best board in big padang, my cutom x that i have right now is the worst board ever.. and i leave it there.

Stoked you are hooked on the booger, its a great lifestyle and the travels and adventures it has taken me on have beeen the best ever. No worries, i grew up witha crew of surfers, over the years most of the missions i have been on have been with my surfer mates, it was through them that i grew a love and a passion for point breaks, its different to reefs or shories, its about speed, power and grace, so just carry on with the mission, aim to travel and it will all be good.
My actual next investment is a Fish Hybrid surfboard.. yeah i stand up to... but only when the waves arnt worth bodyboarding.
I do ride DK but i love prone, our reefs are heavy and i love getting barreled. I am also aiming to get a new camera setup, saddly being a surf photo pays peanuts, so over the last couple of years i have been consentrating on other aspects of photography.. my new site will be up early in the new year... www.marqua.co.za, currently there is just a little holding page with a flash display of some of my photos from days gone by... anyways nuff rambling from me... catch you on the flipside.
Peace.

What up Chica? Right now I'm riding Custom X. Really happy with their boards. Rode Mike Stewart's Science boards for awile, before that into Toobs Bodyboards. I use Viper Fins. I try to buy a new board every couple of years just to stay up with technology, plus if you ride a lot the boards do lose a lot of their bouyancy and they become "spongy". Swells are finally starting to hit Cali more consistantly. Now I just need the time to go. I don't worry about all the tricks. I just like to get shacked deep in massive barrels. How's your modeling going?

Hey Stef, thanks for the info! hoodie/vest/ gloves... Wow! You sound like someone who doesn't like being cold! yeah i was always on a 4mm mission untill the guys at reef hooked me up with the sickest 2/3mm suit that is super sealed, blindstitched and taped... its gotta be the best suit I have ever ridden and it feels like you are riding in your pjama's... anway that has been my suit of choice for most surfs, but I have resorted to my 4mm suit twice this year when the hard offshores have made it "that" cold. So have you been getting any waves?

hahhaha, sweet no worries.
Ok ben boogering for 20 + years now. Grew up in false bay in cape town, home to kalk Bay reef, danger reef and some really big flyin White sharks. have been living on the west coast (of SA) for the last year.
I ride the worst bodyboard ever made, the cutom x ism... stupid plank cant handle reef breaks, way too stiff, and i also have a one foot in the grave morey pro comp bat..
Getting married on Saturday... recovering from my bachelors today.
Peace.
