So I've been applying all over the place for internships during this summer. Most of them of course in the SoCal area. The one I want the most, however, is up north...in San Mateo. It's a little bit south of San Francisco. Now if I do get the position and stay up there for the summer....what would become of my sponging plans? I should probably seek out some SF spongers on this site, but for now my main concern is if I get the internship or not. HOPEFULLY!!! 
Spring is here. The temperature is rising. My glorious return to this site and the beach is at hand!! Well things certainly have changed. Last time I was on this site I had a gold membership and 3 stars. Oh well. Not going to die by having my status stripped. The most important thing about this time of year is my return to the beach. We've already had our first bonfire, but it was in the evening and far too cold to go boarding. But whether I'm at school (CSU Long Beach) or at home in San Gabriel, I can feel the ocean calling to me. Even in the SGV I can smell the salt air, feel the ocean breeze, and see the waves reaching out to me. This is going to be another great summer. 
The winter was cool. Definitely got a lot better at snowboarding. My goal of losing 45 lbs wasnt' met, but it was unrealistic to begin with. I've lost about 15 lbs so that's not tooooo bad is it =P. I'm taking swim conditioning again to build myself up for this summer. Going to get a lot of boardin done this summer! can NOT wait!! =D

so the plan is this winter break...always be doing so
mething. if i'm not bodyboarding...i'm snowboarding, if not
snowboarding - then i'm bodyboarding.
one plan
i have is to bike my way to LB, bodyboard at the rivermouth
, then bike back. that's a total of 56 miles biked plus bod
yboarding. sounds like a good biathalon huh?

by spring i hope to lose at least 20 lbs.

yeah i've been snowboardin a lot durin the winter...just t
ook up the sport...but then again last year was my very fir
st year of bodyboardin...so it's a year of experimentation.

o the waves. i tried going out durin the winter break, but
it was a bad day for waves and just kinda put a damper on t
he rest of the break. but yes...may will herald my gloriou
s return to the beaches!!! huzzah!!.

ok so about that perfect day....yeah there were a few snags
...that i forgot to tell about. so 1. i got a major blister
from my wetsuit cuz i didn't know how to put it on. 2. my
toe got bloodied all over again. i mean it's REALLY ugly. 3
. my BEACH shirt got a few embers on it and burned a few ho
les in it. 4. My banig got a few embers on it too and now I
T has a few holes in it.
but who cares...it was still a fun day!

i don't care WHAT the surf report says. Bolsa was GREAT tod
ay!! the surf report said 1.64 ft waves and mostly flat for
the day. AU CONTRER MON FRER! those were at the very LEAST
4 footers. .....well...the big ones were. but seriously th
at surf report was OFF!! the downside STILL being a never e
nding red-tide and jellys up the but! but still!! and i'm f
eeling TOTALLY confident in my bboarding abilities...i thin
k i need bigger waves...but where are they?? i don't want t
o try wedge quite yet, but i'd like to go there just to see
what it's all like. pictures can only show so much. OH and
i bought my wetsuit today!! amazing! my first one and i'm
in LOVE!! can't wait till winter when it's abilities will t
ruly shine! YES!! my goal of being a good bboarder by the e
nd of the summer is coming true!
so like friday! hell yeah...first time going 5 hours straig
ht surfin! that was CRAZY!! well it was kinda dissappointin
cuz the best waves was when my girl wanted me on a stick r
ather than my sponge, so the best waves past by, but the wa
ves i WAS able to get on my sponge were still pretty tight.
Huntington was GREAT that day!
and THEN....sadness....sunday....just FLAT...nothing it wa
s almost an entirely different beach. just sad.
and Cookie got stung by a jelly.  most uncool. the ca
li beaches are going to be sad for a while
