went to the doctors on wednessday and got told i had to go get some more x-rays on my back. only worked for 45 minutes on thursday because the weather was crappy and we got sent home. went to get some more x-rays and was in there for about 45 minutes, got about 10 x-rays on my back and the chick taking them kept prodding and pokking my back. got my results back half an hour later and no surprise, my back was re-fractured. i fractured it originaly 18 weeks ago suring the Box in Margaret River with a mate. i took of on one of the sets (only 5ft) way too late and deep. free-fell and landed in the barrel, practicaly sideways. i remember looking out of the barrel thinking"crap, thats the biggest barrel i've ever been in" and just got hammered. got thrown back first into the reef. when i popped up, i had no idea how badly i was hurt and my mate convinced me to keep on surfing. we surfed for another 2 hrs before it got too crowded then we paddled in. we headed into town and went to the chemist where the lovely Christy served me some strong pain killers. (her old man used to own the butcher shop where i used to work) later that arvo, we went for another surf at Cobbles, it was a solid 4-5ft but i was all  over the show and couldn't get a decent wave, although i managed to put a big scratch in my brand new custom made funkshen board. funnily enough, my first propper surf on it fractured my back, bruised my kidney and my hip bone. we went back to our camping spot that night and i went to bed early cos i was pretty sore. the next morning, we got up and paddled out at the Box again, only this time it was only shoulder to head high. got some sick waves then headed back to perth. a week and a half later, after some x-rays and 2 trips to the doctors, i was told i fractured my L4 spinous process, a vertebrae in my lower back, bruised 3 other vertebrae, bruised my kidney and my hip bone. not a bad effort ey? so now i've been told that after 18 weeks, it's gonna take another 6-12 months before my back heals up properly. i tell u what, im not f#@&#n happy, not supposed to work or surf for 6 months but to be completely honest, after everything that happened in the last 4 months, i dont give a crap. im going to work tomorrow and im gonna go for a surf sometime in the couple of days!
