haha!!! woke up this morning and had a look to see how da s
urf was doing and i was greeted to 10-15ft sets poundi
ng our beaches!!! i knew and was told to expect a huge swel
l but wasn't expecting it to be this big from overnight!!!
i've just checked our local surf report and its telling us
to expect 3/4 time overhead sets!!(18-24ft!! waw!) tomorrow
!! don't think many peeps will be charging then i tell ya!!
our beaches can't really handle waves over 12ft and tend t
o close out heavily!! i fortunatly know a couple of secrets
and me and a friend have managed to blag off work tomorrow
and setting out to charge some big ones!! will be taking m
y camera and housing,so hoping to get some water bombs on f
ilm! As for today! i luckily finnish pretty early, and
the plan is to hold out for our wedge to reach high tide a
nd then take it on!! its my favourite wave in newquay and t
oday its offering perfect conditions!! right winds,good swe
ll direction and big!! arghh getting excited just thinking
bout it!!!  check out

Hey fellow chargers!! i am so hungover! my head is bangi
ng and am finding it real hard doing anything. it was one o
f my best friends b-day yesterday and a pile of us celebrat
ed it with far to much tequila and beer! not a great combo,
but it seemed like the best idea in the world last night. t
he thing is my friend whos b-day it was got arrested!! he h
as a crazy habit of climbing houses and doing roof jumping,
normally we would of joined him,but was to drunk to walk n
ever mind climding houses. as he was jumping across from ho
use to house, he put his foot through a roof!! the poor peo
ple who live there must of freaked! can ya imagine discover
ing some pissed up dude's foot hanging in ya room.not the b
est eh! with that the police appeared out of no-where and q
uickly got him down of the roof and sharply in the back of
they car. he appeared at mine this morning looking worse fo
r were and got away with drunken and disaorded and a large
bill for the poor peeps roof!! we had to have a chuckle bou
t it!! anyway with that we thought we'ed clear our head and
go for a early morning surf. i was still drunk and thought
it'd be a magicial cure for my head( it normally works!).
getting into my suit was hard enough,but getting out back w
as harder. i just seemed to get washed around. eventually i
did get out back and all i could do was lay on my board an
d float about. i had no energy at all,my arms felt like dea
d waits,my legs were sinking and my stomach felt it was goi
ng to give way and empty it contents of last nights fun!! i
looked like a right state. i was in the water for ages and
hadn't bagged a wave. i decided to get out and suffer some
where warm and cosy. as i was paddlying back in, a large se
t appeared. i managed to pull onto a sizey wave, and got an
amazing ride.( nice big close-out).its amazing how just on
e wave can change your whole day and feelings,cause after t
hat wave,i seemed to have some new form of energy and staye
d out and surfed longer. my head still hurts though and am
now at home chucklying at my sorry state of my friend!!

nbsp;       i've recently cam
e back from what has to be the most life changing trav
el of my life!! i went to SA and Mozambique in search for w
aves for 6months.SA i have to say is unreal and i mana
ged to surf some scary big waves, such as crayfish,outer ko
m,kalk bay and many others,but after charging there fo
r 4months i decided to get away from the hustle in the wate
r and go in search for truley untouched waves! id been told
to go to mozambique. i was also told to watch out for angr
y hardcore tribes,lindmines and sharks!! it took me 2days t
o get there from cape town on sketchy buses and then anothe
r day to the place where i was certain to be waves.  w
ith just my bag and board/fins i found a place to stay and
rested my head hoping for clean,tropical barrlling waves. i
was granted my wish,cause the next day i woke and stomped
a mile or two to a reef called tofino,and was greeted to 5/
6ft peeling bombs!!! with no-one out it took me a while to
work out and get the courage to face the super shallow reef
.but once out i was living a dream!! i've surfedmany waves
round the world from bali to even west india,but theres som
ething magical bout moz. as the weeks went by,i met an old
south african dude who travels to moz to surf with his wife
and child. he'd been coming here for yrs in search of perf
ection and had truley found it. i was lucky to met him as h
e took me to these spots that he'd found and surfed hard wi
th him.theres something humbling knowing that no-one,absolu
tly no-one has surfed them(apart from the old amigo!). i sp
ent2 months with doug and his wife going up the coast,surfi
ng and exploring new set ups. its changed my whole view on
life and travelling and am determined to go back and find m
ore..........cause there is more!!!!! anyone can go to bali
and oz and surf unreal waves but to go somewhere like that
and find remote untouched waves is a blessing. try and ya'
ll see what i mean. it is true bout sharks and angry tribes
,there everywhere and had my fair share of fin sightin
gs!

i hope more bodyboarders do this as this is whats in al
l our hearts, i know it sounds like hippy bullshit but its
true,maybe i have turned into a hippy after this trip, but
ya know what if it means i can do it again,then i'm happy t
o be one!!
